"Star Wars" actor Peter Mayhew continues to recover from pneumonia after being recently hospitalized.
Mayhew's wife confirmed her husband's hospitalization on Monday in a Reddit message thanking fans for their concern.
"Thank you for all the well wishes, prayers, good vibes, and happy thoughts," Angie Mayhew wrote. "He will make a full recovery, and hope to be discharged within a few days. Doctors are incredibly happy with his improvements."
The news was also confirmed on his Twitter with the message, "Peter is recovering well from his bout of pneumonia. He thanks you for the well wishes!!!"
The 7-foot, 3-inch Mayhew has starred as Chewbacca, in all six "Star Wars" films. He will again reprise the role as the giant Wookie character in the upcoming reboot, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which opens in theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
