There has still been no official word on who will play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the movie "Fifty Shades of Grey" but according to reports author E.L. James might have her sights on one unsuspecting actor to land the coveted role. E! News reports that Robert Pattinson was spotted partying with E.L. James over the weekend at his house. He supposedly threw a big bash at his Los Angeles home to celebrate his director-friend, Nicholas Jarecki's birthday.
Besides James, the guest list included actress Heather Graham, Moby, Michelle Rodriquez, songwriter Dianne Warren, singer Lisa Zane, Warren Beatty and singer Todd Michael Schultz who spilled all the party details to Hollywood Life. In attendance was also Ellen Page, who has also been rumored to play in the movie as Anastasia Steele.
"It was a really good party," Schultz told Hollywood Life. "It was in Rob's backyard - he had catered tacos. It was all smart people - trust me, the best people, from beginning to end."
This party is further igniting rumors that Pattinson could be a huge contender for the role of Grey. He was mentioned before as one of the actors to get the part but those rumors were quickly shot down by James. In an interview she said she did not want Pattinson or his ex-girlfriend Kristen Stewart to be in the movie. The "Twilight" star was reportedly shocked to find out that she didn't want to consider him after he had expressed his interest in playing the kinky billionaire.
"I think it would be strange. It would be... ugh! Weird!" James said in a August 2012 interview. She did admit that there were four actors she could imagine playing Grey and three for Steele.
"I'm not telling anyone what they are because I'm not allowed to discuss the movie at all, which is a real shame," she added.
Maybe she was just throwing the public off by giving a firm no to Pattinson or maybe she had a change of heart. Either way Pattinson fans are sure to be excited. Page, who was also at the party, has been mentioned to play Steele in "Fifty Shades of Grey." The "Juno" actress was spotted on a couple lists to star in the movie with a few people writing that they could see her "transform from the shy, mousey college student" to Christian Grey's lover.
Recently big news was announced after Sam Taylor-Johnson was chosen to direct the film. Hopefully, official casting news will be announced soon as well.
