Want to make sure your breath doesn't stink before going out? Breathometer has created an app just for that.
The smartphone app, dubbed The Mint, is similar to a breathalyzer in that the user has to place its sensor in his or her mouth and breathe into it, according to Newser. The sensor will then check to see if there is any hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen disulfide, methyl mercaptan or other compounds that cause bad breath in the user's mouth.
You will also be advised to drink a glass of water depending on the amount of water the app finds in your mouth's mucous membrane, as dehydration can also make your breath unpleasant.
While the process currently takes 12 seconds, a Breathometer spokesperson said the company is looking to bring that time down to 10 for the final version, Mashable reported.
Mint is the latest creation to come out of Breathometer, which previously introduced the world to one of the first smartphone breathalyzers.
The company has started a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo with the goal of raising $25,000 for Mint, Newser reported. Backers can order the app now for $89 with an "early bird" pledge.
The app will work with both iOS and Android devices, which include the iPhone 5 or higher, Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S5 and Nexus 5.
The campaign has so far raised more than $20,000, Mashable reported, and Breathometer hopes to have the app reach backers by August 2015.
