The legacy (and possibly grisly ending) of fictional meth cooker Walter White has been teased in the new promotional poster for the finale of AMC's hit show, "Breaking Bad," according to Hollywood Reporter. The poster features actor Bryan Cranston clenching his fists and glaring at the camera, covered by the text "REMEMBER MY NAME."
Fans have long been speculating how White, also known by his legendary drug name Heisenburg, will meet his end (or survive?) in the drama's finale. There are only eight episodes left of "Breaking Bad," the series returning Sunday, August 11 at 9 p.m. AMC also recently launched the Breaking Bad Name Lab, where fans can turn their names into element symbols just like the show's title logo.
Showrunner Vince Gilligan reportedly cried when he wrote the final episode of the hit drama, penning "the end" causing him to burst into tears, though he hasn't since then.
"We sat around in the writer's room for thousands of man hours playing a game of chess, saying, 'If we move the character from here to here to here, what happens? What's the counter-move?'" Gilligan said to Hollywood Reporter. "Essentially we said, 'What are all the possible endings we can come up with?' And then, 'What is the ending that satisfies us the most?'"
Though "Breaking Bad" is often praised by critics for its meticulous planning, Gilligan revealed that the show's finale was not a part of the master plan first concocted in season one.
