Jackie Chan Dead: Actor Takes To Facebook End Continuing Rumors About His Death

After a Facebook page was created on Thursday titled "R.I.P. Jackie Chan" that got a lot of attention online, the 59-year-old actor took to his own Facebook page to dispel any rumors about his death.

The original Facebook hoax was created with a post saying "At about 11am on Wednesday, our beloved actor Jackie Chan passed away. Jackie Chan was born on April 7, 1954 in Hong Kong. He will be missed but not forgotten."

Following the page's creation, Yahoo News reports Global Associated News then claimed the actor died in an accident while filming in Austria by falling down 50 feet in a remote area of the Hahnenkamm Mountains.

The following day, Chan's managers released a statement dispelling the rumor that the martial arts actor, famous for doing his own stunts in his films, was anything but alive and well.

Chan was traveling to India during this whole rumor's explosion and, despite the statement from his managers, he took to his own Facebook to finally put any doubt about his well being to rest as soon as he got back. Chan posted a picture of himself holding a newspaper with the current date on it (seen above):

"Hi everybody! Yesterday, I got on a 3am flight from India to Beijing. I didn't get a chance to sleep and even had to clean my house when I got home. Today, everybody called to congratulate me on my rumored engagement. Afterward, everybody called me to see if I was alive.

If I died, I would probably tell the world! I took a photo with today's date, just in case you don't believe me! However, thank you all for your concern. Kiss kiss and love you all!

P.S. My dog is healthy, just like me! He doesn't need surgery! By the way, my dogs are golden retrievers, not Labradors."
