Katy Perry is a true TLC fan.
The "Dark Horse" singer has pledged $5,000 to TLC 's Kickstarter project, E! News reported. The funds are in support of the '90s R&B group goal to reach $150,000 to finance their final album.
"A BIG Special THANK YOU 2 @katyperry for her pledge to our #Kickstarter Campaign!" TLC member Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins wrote on Twitter. "Your awesome!"
As of Thursday, TLC has surpassed their goal of $150,000 by raising over $173,000 for their album. For Perry's large donation, the singer is eligible for several perks, including a slumber party with the group members, a TLC scrapbook and a mix tape of the group's favorite songs.
The upcoming album is expected to be independently without financial support from any label. According to the group's Kickstarter page, all the funds collected will go towards funding the production - including writing session with a producer and engineer - and the release of their final album.
"While major labels offer artists multimillion dollar recording and marketing budgets, they don't often give artists complete control of their own music," the group said on their Kickstarter page. "It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU.
"The initial goal of $150,000 will go towards a writing session in the studio with a producer and engineer. The money beyond that will go to booking music producers, writing sessions, mixing sessions, recording sessions, and SO much more."
Before releasing a new album, TLC will join New Kids on the Block and Nelly on a North American tour, which is expected to kick off on May 1 in Las Vegas and end on July 2 in New York.
"We're going to come out on some of their [songs]. We're going to study [their dance moves] every day and then we are going to pop up," Chilli told E! News about a possible collaboration on stage with her new touring buddies.
