"Dead Rising: Watchtower," the made-for-digital movie based on Capcom's zombie-slaying franchise, is coming to Sony's Crackle video service on March 27, and now we have our first look at the film in action. There's even a bit of Frank West shown off...and he looks damn funny as portrayed by comedian Rob Riggle.
The "Dead Rising" movie looks like it stays true, for the most part, to the game's setting which is over-the-top and right in the B-movie wheelhouse. The game's zombie prevention drug Zombrex appears to play a major part in the film in terms of driving the plot, as do "Dead Rising's" demented boss/psychopaths. And it also appears that "Dead Rising Watchtower's" characters are capable of crafting DIY weapons, like the Sledge Saw from "Dead Rising 3" that actor Jesse Metcalfe is running around with. Who ever said that video games and movies had little in the way of convergence?
"Dead Rising: Watchtower" stars Meghan Ory, Virginia Madsen, Dennis Haysbert, Harley Morenstein, Keegan Connor Tracy, Aleks Paunovic, Rob Riggle, and Jesse Metcalfe. The digital movie will debut on Crackle, which is available for PlayStation and Xbox platforms, as well as PC and mobile devices. Thanks to Kotaku for the heads up.
