Maria Sharapova faces Michelle Larcher De Brito on Wednesday in the second round of the 2013 Wimbledon Championships. The match is the third on Court 2. ESPN is broadcasting the match, or watch the live stream HERE.
World No. 3 Sharapova defeated Kristina Mladenovic in the first round on Monday, winning 7-6 (5), 6-3.
"The first match is always difficult and my opponent played extremely well, so I'm happy to get through," Sharapova told ESPN. "I knew my opponent was capable of playing a good match, she has such a big game. But I'm happy with the way I stepped up in the second."
Mladenovic took Sharapova to a tie in the first set, but Sharapova controlled the second set en route to the win.
Sharapova has her eye set on the Wimbledon Final, where she could meet Serena Williams in a rematch of 2004, according to Tennis Earth. She's played well this season, boasting a 36-5 record, and already has two titles.
She made it to the 2013 French Open Final before falling to Williams. Add the recent verbal tiff between the two, and Sharapova has even more incentive to reach the Final, where she'll likely meet projected finalist Williams.
Portugal's De Brito is only 20 years of age and ranked No. 131 in the world. The right-hander has a 9-12 record this year, with a 148-119 career record.
Wednesday is De Brito and Sharapova's first meeting.
