Twitter users that want to be able to read tweets in other languages will be happy to hear that the micro-blogging service has finally ended its tests with its Bing translation tool and made it available on its site and mobile apps.
The feature is can be seen in the setting column of your Twitter account, where you can check the box that says, "Show tweet translations" to translate foreign tweets into languages you understand, according to The Tech Portal.
However, the company warns that the translation tool won't work 100 percent of the time, as it may make mistakes or completely fail at translating messages at times.
Twitter has spent the past two years testing the feature, which has been available on competing social networking site Facebook since 2011, TechCrunch reported. The company brought the tool to its mobile apps last year but removed it a couple months later after it had trouble working the way it was designed.
The tool has the potential to help marketing companies on Twitter reach users who speak different languages with only one account. U.S.-based users make up 77 percent of Twitter's user base.
Twitter has made the translation tool available on its main site, TweetDeck for both iOS and Android users, The Tech Port reported. The feature currently comes with 40 pairs of translations, and it is not known when more will be added.
