'Sherlock': New Production Photos Show Off More Old School Garb (SEE THEM)

The word around town is that we'll be seeing a "Sherlock" Christmas special sometime later this year (probably around December, naturally), and now some new set photos (see below) have surfaced from the production of the acclaimed BBC series (via Vulture).

Although the show is set in modern times, these photos reveal stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock Holmes), Martin Freeman (John Watson) and Amanda Abbington (Mary Watson) walking around in period garb that harkens back to the Victorian Era when Sir Arthur Conan Doyle penned the original Sherlock Holmes tales.

We'd seen a brief look at Sherlock and Watson dressed in a manner similar to this before, but now we see the full scope of their costumes. What on Earth could have these characters dressing up in this manner? Time travel? Costume party? A time travelling costume party? Let me hear your thoughts in the comments section below.
