A group of nine former McDonald's workers are suing the franchise because their top supervisors allegedly sexually harassed them and spoke racist comments about them.
The civil rights complaint filed Thursday said the workers were "subjected to rampant racial and sexual harassment, committed by the restaurants' highest-ranking supervisors," reported Yahoo News.
One of the nine workers are hispanic; the rest are black. They claimed that the supervisors were discriminating against them because Soweva, the company that owns the restaurant, wanted to "reduce the number of African-American employees and hire more white employees," the lawsuit states.
"Soweva's supervisors were blunt, telling employees that it was 'too dark' in the restaurants, and that they were going to hire different workers because they 'need to get the ghetto out of the store,'" the complaint adds.
The group of workers are accusing the McDonald's franchise for the behavior of their employees because they are allegedly responsible for all of the workers in all of their restaurants, reported Yahoo News.
The former McDonald's workers also alleged that the supervisors inappropriately touched female employees, sent female employees sexual pictures, and solicited sexual relations from them, reported Yahoo News.
McDonalds has yet to comment on the issue.
