Mandy Moore has filed for divorce from husband Ryan Adams after six years of marriage.
The 30-year-old actress-singer cited irreconcilable differences and asked for spousal support from Adams, according to Radar Online. The couple married in a private ceremony in March 2009.
"Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years," the couple said in a statement to US Weekly. "It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time."
The two musicians collaborated on several tracks together, including the 2011 song "Empty Room." Moore recently spoke about possibly working with Adams on her follow-up album to 2009's "Amanda Leigh."
"I'm probably going to work with my husband on this album," the "Tangled" star told CBSNews.com last June. "I'm not sure necessarily in what capacity, but we've been writing a little bit together. He has a studio, so I definitely want to make my record there."
The 40-year-old Adams never speaks about his personal life publicly. He stuck to his hard and fast rule when he hung up on an Australian radio station in September after the Melbourne DJs pushed him to talk about his relationship with Moore.
"I just don't share at all about my private life," he politely responded. When they asked again, he hung up.
He later explained to Buzzfeed News that he nicely asked them the first time to drop the subject, but he "won't repeat" himself.
"The deal is this: I'm a private person and I'll be a gentleman and say I'm not talking about my marriage ever. I'll never talk about it. Ever," he told Buzzfeed. "I'll talk about rescue cats for a few seconds. But even there I don't want to talk about my pets. If I have children I'm not going to discuss that with anyone ever. I'll suggest it once and then I'm going to hang up."
The couple never had children, but they did share seven cats and two dogs.
