WEtv is going where no other channel has gone before. The network is launching a new reality series, "Sex Box," in which couples literally have sex in a booth in front of a live studio audience and a panel of experts.
While the couple is getting it on, the panel will discuss the pair's relationship troubles and wait for them to finish. We should point out that the sex box is camera-less and soundproof. After the couple finishes their steamy rendezvous in the enclosed booth they will exit, each wearing a silk robe, and sit down to talk about what happened and how they can fix their relationship.
According to WEtv, people are more honest when they are in a relaxed state and post-sex should be one of the best times to capture a person's most honest self. The new series is based on the wildly popular UK show of the same name.
The panel of judges who will be examining each couple's relationship includes Fran Walfish, a relationship expert; Dr. Chris Donaghue, a sex therapist; Danielle Stewart, a comedian; and Yvonne Capehart, a pastor.
"'Sex Box' is one of the most unique and compelling show concepts we've ever seen, and we can't wait to bring it to WEtv," WEtv President Marc Juris said last August. "Our featured couples will get a once-in-a-lifetime experience, while our viewers will get the kind of bold, break-through-the-clutter programing they increasingly associate with WEtv."
The first season of "Sex Box" will have nine episodes and premieres Feb. 27. Check out the trailer below.
