Massachusetts Man Buys Lotto Ticket to Break $100 Bill, Ends Up Winning $10M

A Massachusetts man is celebrating a one in a million miracle after winning $10 million when he bought a lotto ticket to break a $100 bill.

Richard Noll purchased two Platinum Millions scratch tickets at the Lanzilli Groceria in East Boston to make change for $100 so he could use cash to buy lunch at a local sandwich shop, ItemLive.com reported.

One of the $20 scratch tickets ended up being worth $10 million, making Noll the third person to win the Platinum Millions ever since the game launched in 2013, according to the Associated Press.

Noll, of Revere, and his wife, Leese, claimed the prize last Tuesday at the Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Braintree, ItemLive reported. He opted for a one-time cash payment in the amount of $6.6 million, which after taxes is $4.55 million.

The new millionaire said he plans on using the winnings to buy a house, make investments and take his granddaughter to Disney World.
