Newly engaged couple Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello are wasting no time starting a family.
The 42-year-old actress and her new fiance are planning to have a child via surrogate, In Touch Magazine reported. An insider claimed that the pair are hoping to have a "baby on the way when they walk down the aisle later this year."
"Sofia and Joe will use a surrogate, but the baby will be their biological child, conceived with Sofia's egg and Joe's sperm," the insider told the publication.
Vergara and Manganiello have reportedly been "screening potential surrogates since December, as they are excited to expand their little family." The insider added that, "It's a closely guarded secret why Sofia won't be carrying the baby and not something they're openly talking about. One thing is for sure, though: They can't wait to be parents!"
In March 2013, the "Modern Family" actress, who was then romantically involved with Nick Loeb, revealed to Vogue Magazine that she was planning to freeze her eggs.
"I have to be careful what I eat because they're freezing my eggs!" she told Vogue. "[Doctors] want to get as many eggs as they can because usually you produce them but they're not good. They have to be perfect, perfect, perfect ones."
Vergara added that her son, Manolo, 22, has been waiting to become an older brother, saying, "You know, sometimes he used to scream at me when he was younger, 'Why can't you have another baby, so you can stop focusing on me?'"
