Emile Hirsch has come under investigation for allegedly assaulting a female executive for Paramount Pictures during the Sundance Film Festival, according to Page Six.
Police were dispatched to the Tao nightclub in Park City, Utah at 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, when the unidentified executive reported being attacked to club security.
"Something happened between the movie exec and Emile, and she said she had been assaulted and asked security to call the police," a witness told Page Six.
The cause of the alleged assault is still unknown, but it's believed the incident was not sexual, a source told Deadline. The 29-year-old Hirsch cooperated when officers arrived.
"Emile didn't leave the scene, and calmly waited for the police to arrive, and spoke with them until around 5 a.m., after which he went home with his friends. No arrests were made," the witness said.
The Paramount executive has not pressed charges, but was considering filing a complaint with police later on Sunday, another source told Page Six.
"Currently this is an active case that we're still investigating," Capt. Phil Kirk, CIO of the Park City PD, told Deadline. "We'll be submitting the case to the Summit County Attorney's Office for screening as soon as we complete the investigation."
Hirsch attended the film festival for the world premiere of his new film "Ten Thousand Saints," which had its screening on Friday. He co-stars with Ethan Hawke, Asa Butterfield, Emily Mortimer, Julianne Nicholson and Hailee Steinfeld.
