Maybe he let it slip but Tony Parker, Eva Longoria's ex-husband, is engaged. Parker confirmed the news on Twitter during a Q&A with fans Wednesday afternoon, the Daily Mail reports. When a fan asked him what he likes to do to relax after a basketball game, he responded "spend time with my fiancé."
Engagement rumors surfaced last week after the 31-year-old athlete was spotted picking out a sparkly diamond ring for his girlfriend, French journalist Axelle Francine. He also hinted on Twitter that they two could be planning an exotic honeymoon saying that his favorite places to go on a Holiday are "The Maldives, Tahiti and a safari anywhere in Africa." Parker and Francine began dating February of 2012.
According to the Daily Mail, a source close to the NBA player predicted that the two were going to tying the knot soon saying that he was "madly in love with her." Many people say Parker's new love interest looks like his ex-wife Eva Longoria. Parker and the "Desperate Housewives" star split in 2011 after three years of marriage. They married in a lavish wedding in 2007 but in 2010 the couple split filing for divorce after Longoria reportedly saw a bunch of text messages in his phone to another woman. The other woman turned out to be Erin Barry, the former wife of Parker's teammate and a friend of the couple.
In an interview with Dr. Oz Longoria said she was devastated after the split, Radar Online reports.
"I was not eating. I was depressed. I was sad. My diet was coffee," she said. "So people kept saying, you look amazing. Divorce agrees with you. And I was like, I don't feel good. I have no energy."
She confirmed the split on her Twitter account posting at the time "It is with great sadness that after 7 years together, Tony and I have decided to divorce. We love each other deeply and pray for each other's happiness."
Parker, who now plays for the San Antonio Spurs, recently lost the NBA Playoffs to the Miami Heat on Sunday.
