Is "Cougar Town" star Courtney Cox dating her co-star Brian Van Holt?
US Weekly reports that actress is indeed dating Holt, as an insider reveals to the gossip magazine that the two have been "going out for about six months," linking the pair since Cox divorced her ex-husband David Arquette in 2010. Arquette once told Howard Stern that Cox and Van Holt were having an "emotional affair." Cox has not dated anyone else since her separation with Arquette, and denied her ex-husband's allegations that she and Van Holt had an "emotional affair" at the time.
The couple separated in 2010 but did not file divorce papers until 2012 after 12 years of marriage. They have mantained a friendly relationship since their divorce and share custody of their 9-year old daughter, Coco. The two met and fell in love in 2000 on the set of the movie "Scream."
The US Weekly source added that now that Arquette has moved on with his girlfriend Christina McLarty, Cox is more comfortable having her relationship with Van Holt out in the open. Rumors are circulating that Arquette is no longer maintaining his sobriety and has returned to his partying ways. The actor struggled with alcohol before settling down with Cox.
On July 10, a witness told US that Cox and Van Holt "acted like boyfriend and girlfriend" during dinner at West Hollywood's Chi Lin restaurant.
Van Holt is also close with Cox's friends and, most importantly, her Coco, who visited the "Cougar Town" set last fall.
"The girl was extremely comfortable with Brian," an onlooker told US Weekly at the time. "She treated him like a dad or an uncle."
Fans of "Cougar Town" will be happy to know that the show has been renewed for a fifth season that will air in January. The series struggled and was canceled before being picked up by TBS.
