Ford issued a recall on Wednesday that covers 205,000 cars, among them its Interceptor sedans designed specifically for police work.
The goal for the recall is to fix a spring in the interior door handle that the automaker says can cause the door to unlatch when the car is in a side-impact crash, according to CNN. The company added that it has not received any reports about accidents or injuries connected to the problem.
The Interceptors covered in the recall include those made between 2009 and 2012, CNN reported. Other covered vehicles include the Taurus, specifically those built between 2009 and 2012, and 2011 models of the Lincoln MKS sedan.
Ford will have dealers inspect the door handles and replace them if needed, free of charge to the owners.
