A mother killed her three children in cold blood before committing suicide in Atlanta on Tuesday, the Daily News reported.
Kisha Holmes, 35, killed her 9-month-old daughter, 4-year-old son and 10-year-old son in their apartment, but it's not clear how or when. Neighbors noticed that the apartment had been unusually quiet for a few days, void of the usual hustle and bustle of children. A cause of death has not yet been determined.
"I'd say, 'How you doing?'" Ronald said of past interactions with Holmes. "She'd holler, 'I'm blessed!'"
A maintenance worker discovered the horrific scene and called police just before 10 a.m. on Tuesday. He was doing routine work on the dyers and was going door-to-door, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
"My understanding he was going in for routine maintenance, something to do with the air ducts, the vents and when he went in he discovered the bodies of multiple people inside," Sgt. Dana Pierce, of the Cobb County Police Department, said.
This is the second death of a complex resident since the fall, but the cases are not connected.
In September, 24-year-old Tavin E. Campbell was shot to death inside his apartment in the same complex. A suspect was taken into custody two days later.
