Justin Bieber gave fans an early listen to a couple of songs that could land on the singer's upcoming album, due out this year.
Bieber posted two 15-second audio snippets on his Instagram. The slow ballads played over top a black-and-white photo of him strumming his acoustic guitar.
The first song seems to reflect his renewed focus on religion in his life. "Gotta believe in something higher," he sings in the stripped down number.
In the second tune, he sings of regret over losing a past love. Given his storied with up-and-down relationship with Selena Gomez, the song does reflect his possible feelings over their latest break up.
"When it's raining, it's pouring/How do I always end up the enemy?/How do I wake up in the morning, and you're not right next to me?/How did we throw it all away?" he sings.
The small release follows an impromptu concert Bieber gave at the State Social House in Los Angeles on Jan. 20. The "Boyfriend" singer tested out a few new songs, covered Edwin McCain's "I'll Be" and performed "Home to Mama," his duet with Cody Simpson, according to HollywoodLife.com.
Bieber plans to release his next studio album later this year, but has not announced a specific date yet. He released his second compilation album, "Journals" in December 2013.
