Nothing says "happy birthday" like a cease-and-desist letter from Nene Leakes - right?
The "Real Housewives" reality star decided to serve co-star Kenya Moore with a cease-and-desist letter for allegedly making "false, destructive, and defamatory statements," which are "injurious" to Leakes' "character and reputation."
"I guess this is @NeNeLeakes way of saying happy birthday!" Moore captioned a screenshot of the letter on Instagram Tuesday. "#RHOA #HypocrisyAtItsBest #ByeGirl #SheTriedIt #SoNastySoRude."
The letter claimed that Moore "engaged in making false, destructive, and defamatory statements. These statements have been made directly, by implication and inneundo during television broadcasts and through social media and the Bravo blog."
The letter continued, "Your postings on BravoTV have been false, malicious and ostensibly made with the intent to cause damage to her reputation by exposing her to public hatred, contempt and ridicule, and injuring her in her trade and/or profession. Particularly, your statement was made with the intent to directly injure and defame Mrs. Leakes and the perception of her in the broadcast of The Real Housewives of Atlanta (RHOA), her brand as a member of the cast, and her brand in the entertainment and celebrity industry in general."
In an exclusive interview with the New York Daily News, Moore said she has "not done anything to warrant" the letter. Adding, "I think this is a way for her to control everyone and everything around her. However, she cannot control freedom of speech particularly when she has done and said worse over the course of seven years to numerous housewives."
Both reality stars are known for bad mouthing one another in the past. During an episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," Moore reportedly called Leakes a "ghetto, classless, beast."
Leakes has yet to directly address Moore recent post, but after the photo was shared, Leakes tweeted, "The Thirst Is Real! They need me for press because they can't get none."
