If you thought Tesla's Model S P85D was fast now, imagine if it could go even faster. The electric car maker wants to make that a reality.
The P85D has already amazed passengers with its "Insane" mode, which lets the car go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 3.2 seconds with a push of a button, TechCrunch reported. However, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk wrote on Twitter Thursday that the car's software will be updated to allow the vehicle to reach new speeds.
"Tesla P85D 0 to 60mph acceleration will improve by ~0.1 sec soon via over-the-air software update to inverter algorithm," Musk wrote.
While 0.1 seconds may not seem like a big change, any improvement in speed is sure to change the driver's experience.
Musk added that the P85, which has one motor instead of two like the P85D, will also receive an improvement in its speed, TechCrunch reported. However, this update will not be as great as the one the P85D will receive.
