People having trouble getting some shut-eye at night will be happy to hear about a high-tech mattress cover designed to help you get a good night's sleep and wake up ready to start the day.
The smart mattress cover, called Luna, fits around your bet like a regular cover and can tell if you're sleeping, according to The Independent. After you fall asleep, the cover will then adjust settings in your room, such as the lighting or the heat, to make it more comfortable for you to rest.
Luna will also allow the user to get better sleep by monitoring the room temperature and how much sleep the user gets. The bed's "dual zone temperature" allows the cover to track different sides of the bed separately.
The device can then help the user get the day started by turning the lights back on or brewing coffee when it senses that the user is waking up, The Independent reported.
Data will stay safe in the cover, which will then send it to Luna for storage and analysis.
Matteo Franceschetti, co-founder of Luna, held a demonstration for the cover in a showroom, where he said the company wants the cover to be able to work with the Nest smart thermometer and other smart devices, TechCrunch reported.
"Our idea is to really automatize most of your sleep habits," he said. "The more Internet devices will be distributed and sold across the United States, the more this product will be useful."
Franceschetti said men will be big fans of how the cover will work with different devices in their room, such as lights and Netflix, and that women will like how they will be able to set the temperature of the bed on their side without arguing with their spouse over keeping the bed hot or cold, TechCrunch reported.
Luna has starting an Indiegogo campaign to acquire funding for the smart mattress cover. While the company plans on selling the cover for $249, backers can pre-order it now through the campaign for $179.
