Fans have been eagerly anticipating a new album from actress and pop star Hilary Duff, whose fourth studio album "Dignity" was met with widespread praise upon its 2007 release. Since then, Duff has reportedly been working on a fifth album, and a recent Instagram post from celebrity gossip site runner Jared Eng of JustJared hints at new music soon to come!
"Couldn't be more excited for you @hilaryduff," Eng teased as a caption to his latest picture of him with Duff, the star making a kissy face for the camera. Eng included a not-so-subtle music notes icon in his caption.
"6 years! we've been waiting 6 yrs for new music :(," one fan wrote in the comments, while another commented, "Please tell us! We're dying to know!!"
Duff responded to Eng on Instagram, writing coyly, "Don't say no more ;)," creating more hype and suspense for her anxious fans.
Hilary Duff is no longer with Hollywood Records, her former Disney label that she left in 2008, so it is yet unknown under which label she will be releasing her new music. In 2009, she contributed a song called "Any Other Day" for the "What Goes Up" soundtrack, and in October 2011 she mentioned plans of a possible new album to E! News. In January 2012, Duff confirmed that she had begun recording new music on her official Twitter and website.
On her 2008 greatest hits album, Duff released two new tracks, "Reach Out," which samples Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus," and "Holiday." The song "Reach Out" became Duff's third number one dance hit in the US, but her "Best of Hilary Duff" album failed to reach the success of its predecessors.
There is no official release date announced yet for new music.
