Robbie Coltrane had to cancel his scheduled appearance at Universal Orlando after falling ill aboard his flight to Florida on Friday.
The "Harry Potter" star, famous for his portrayal as Rubeus Hagrid in the film adaptations of J.K. Rowling's novels, traveled to the theme park for the second Celebration of Harry Potter going on this weekend. Coltrane experienced severe flu-like symptoms on his trans-Atlantic flight from London to Orlando and was rushed to a nearby hospital upon arrival, according to The Telegraph.
"Robbie took ill last night and is getting the rest he needs to feel better," Universal announced in a statement on Friday morning. "We are sorry he can't be with us this weekend and look forward to seeing him up and about soon."
Coltrane will remain in the hospital overnight for treatment.
The 64-year-old actor would have joined his former co-stars at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park. Michael Gambon (Dumbledore), James Phelps (Fred Weasley), Oliver Phelps (George Weasley) and Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) all plan to make an appearance and sign autographs for fans.
The Celebration of Harry Potter will also feature wand-battle tutorials; a Sorting Hat Experience from Harry Potter: The Exhibition; a session with illustrator Kazu Kibuiski, who reimagined the Harry Potter book covers; and a session with the films' art director Alan Gilmore, also a key designer in the creation of Universal's Wizarding World.
Fans can also take part in Harry Potter film trivia and kids can learn the dances performed by the Beauxbatons and Durmstrang students in the movies.
