Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders defensive tackle Warren Sapp was arrested in Phoenix, Ariz. early Monday morning for allegedly soliciting a prostitute, according to a report from TMZ Sports.
Sapp, per the report, was also arrested for assault and taken into custody in a downtown Phoenix hotel.
"We were contacted by the Phoenix Police Dept. today in a matter involving a guest," a representative for the hotel told TMZ Sports. "We are cooperating with police as they look into the situation since it is an active investigation. We have no further comment."
This would mark the third time the 2013 Hall of Fame inductee has been arrested. He faced domestic battery chargers in 2010 and 2014, though the initial case was dropped.
The 42 year old Sapp was in Phoenix as part of the NFL Network's coverage team for Super Bowl XLIX.
The NFL Network has since removed Sapp's profile from his talent page on their website.
Sapp was drafted by the Buccaneers with the 12th overall pick in the 1995 NFL Draft. He played with the team for nine seasons and was named to seven Pro Bowls, won a Defensive Player of the Year Award in 1999 and a Super Bowl in 2002.
After joining the Raiders from 2004 to 2007, Sapp moved into broadcasting.
He was recently on the show, "Dancing with the Stars."
