With Andray Blatche now a free agent, there're a number of teams reportedly interested in signing him. Those teams are said to include the Miami Heat, the Brooklyn Nets and the Memphis Grizzlies, although it's uncertain how badly Miami still wants him.
Blatche has drawn some interest from teams this season, and with his season in China now over, could make a return to the NBA. He has a handful of suitors, but the Heat - who were once linked to Blatche - might have their need for a big man taken care with the breakout season from center Hassan Whiteside, according to ESPN.
Per ESPN:
"The Brooklyn Nets are interested in a potential reunion with Andray Blatche, according to league sources. Sources told ESPN.com that the Nets are among the teams tracking Blatche, who just became a free agent after his team in China failed to reach the Chinese Basketball Association playoffs.
"The Nets have one open roster spot and, according to sources, are on a list of Blatche suitors that also includes the Memphis Grizzlies. It remains to be seen, however, whether the Miami Heat will rekindle their long-standing interest in Blatche, given the recent emergence of big man Hassan Whiteside with the Heat."
Whiteside averaged 16.5 points, 15.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks in each of his last five games, seemingly filling the Heat's void in the paint. Keeping Whiteside, a soon-to-be restricted free agent, would also be a cheaper option for Miami.
Blatche shouldn't have a difficult time finding a new NBA team this year, if he chooses to do so. The 6-foot-11 forward/center combo averaged 31.1 points and 14.6 rebounds for the CBA's Xinjiang Flying Tigers this season, and he averaged 11.2 points and 5.3 reboundsoff the bench last season for Brooklyn.
