Tom Brady's father doesn't think much of the DeflateGate scandal that dogged his son and the entire New England Patriots franchise in the weeks leading up to their Super Bowl XLIX matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
In the wake of the Patriots 28-24 victory, on a last-minute, game-sealing interception, Brady Sr. had some choice words for the NFL and the people who he believes have pushed the supposed scandal much farther than it ever should have gone.
"The drip, drip, drip way that things have come out," he said, referring to leaks during the investigation, according to ESPN. "It's a conniving way to do business. ... There was no sting? B.S. They've never gauged footballs at halftime. He got screwed the past two weeks."
The NFL has an investigation ongoing into the Patriots and Brady's alleged use of footballs deflated below the league minimum 12.5 psi during their AFC Championship Game victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
According to reports, the investigation has "zeroed in on" a member of the Patriots locker room staff who can be seen on surveillance video - which New England reportedly found and supplied to the league - taking the balls from the locker room to a bathroom for approximately 90 seconds, en route to the field.
The scandal had dropped to the background in recent days as momentum for the game built and even now as the nation continues to pick apart one of the most exciting Super Bowl's in recent memories and the Patriots revel in their victory.
Still, in the immediate aftermath of the win and the Pats signal-caller being named the Super Bowl MVP - the third of Brady's career - Brady's father could only talk about one thing.
"He is all class," Brady Sr. said. "For people to question his integrity ... "
Expect the conversation about the scandal and the NFL's investigation to again return to the fore as the emotion surrounding the game begins to fade.
