Bruce Jenner is reportedly ready to start talking about his alleged transformation from male to female and will give his first exclusive interview to Diane Sawyer. According to The Wrap and several other media outlets, Jenner will talk about his alleged journey to becoming a woman for an interview set to air in May.
ABC has not commented on the report, but a source told The Wrap that Jenner and Sawyer are finalizing their negotiations now. Page Six reports that Jenner is expected to start filming for the interview later this week.
Even though the 65-year-old has been photographed with longer hair and manicured nails, Jenner has never publicly acknowledged that he is transitioning to a woman. According to People magazine, he's been taking his time with the transformation because he wants his family to be able to adjust to his new life.
"He is finally happy and his family is accepting of what he's doing. He's in such a great space. That's why it's the perfect time to do something like this," the source said.
For the past several months, he has reportedly been filming for his own docu-series, to air on E!, which will chronicle his new appearance. The untitled project will premiere this spring, following the finale of Season 10 of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
There were also rumors that the former Olympian will talk about his new life with his children and ex-wife Kris Jenner on the new season of the "Kardashians" reality show.
"[It] will air when he is ready to be open about his transition," a source told People. "But he's acting more and more confident and seems very happy."
It seems like all of Jenner's kids are standing by the former athlete. A source said that everyone has been supportive but they are all dealing with it in different ways. When Kim Kardashian was asked about her step-father's new look, she admitted that Jenner is on a "journey," but said he would tell his story when he's ready to.
"I think everyone goes through things in life, and I think that story and what Bruce is going through, I think he'll share whenever the time is right," she said.
