Bill Maher poked fun at Republicans for opposing the morning-after pill on his show "Real Time with Bill Maher."
And get real it did: Maher ripped into the "war on women," saying that the GOP isn't hating on women by opposing the recently passed law to sell Plan B pills over the counter.
"Stop saying Republicans are waging a war on women," he said. "It's not women they hate, it's women having sex that doesn't end with a baby popping out."
Maher continued not to parse words, commenting that sex, "in their mind is for pro-creation, not recreation."
On purchasing emergency contraceptive pills, Maher chucked while he said that the pill was just as simply to buy as other items.
"Any American can now buy over-the-counter just like milk and ammo. Things like Plan-B and the HPV vaccine are bad because they remove God's natural intended punishments for sluts who put out," he continued. "A) being saddled with a baby you don't want or B) stricken with a horrible disease. You don't think that's how people think?"
Although the studio audience erupted with laughter at Maher's show, others are not happy with the severity of his statements.
Then again, the outspoken commentator who made "Religulous," is not exactly known for his tact.
A few days ago, Maher spoke out against government attitudes in an interview with CNN.
"[Socialism is] not a dirty word, but in America, when you say 'socialist,' most people, they don't know what it means, but they know it's something super bad, like pedophilia or atheism or something like that. Meanwhile, they do nothing but take money from the government," he was reported as saying.
