A graphic comic-book version of the Bible will be published by Kingstone Comics later this year.
It is unfortunate but true that not many Christians have actually read the whole Bible. Some don't have time or read just portions of it and others think the book it too "thick." To grab the attention of readers, Kingstone Comics, a Christian comic publishing house, has thought up an innovative way to publish the Bible.
According to the Guardian, the publishing house announced Saturday that it will release a graphic, comic-book version of the Bible. which will cover the major themes and stories of the Bible in a chronological order . The comic-book version of the Bible will be published in 12 volumes, four of which will be released later this year and the remaining 8 next year.
The first four volumes will narrate events and themes covered in the Old Testament of the Bible till the Book of Judges. The remaining 8 volumes, to be released next year, will cover the remaining chapters of the Old Testament as well as the entire New Testament.
Chief executive Art Ayris hopes that this comic-book version of the Bible will help people better understand the Bible. Ayris calls the Bible the "best-selling book of all time" and adds that even the Bible series on the History Channel is the top-rated cable program ever.
Graphic adaptations of the Bible have been released earlier, this is the first time the entire Bible will be published in comic-book version. Former Judge Dredd artist, Siku, published a manga version of the early chapters of Genesis; from the Garden of Eden to Sodom and Gomorrah in 2008. In 2009, the U.S. cartoonist Robert Crumb published a graphic version of the Book of Genesis.
