Baby Maxwell is now a big sister! Jessica Simpson gave birth to a baby boy on Sunday named Ace Knute. Her rep confirmed the news to US Weekly telling the magazine in a statement, "Ace Knute (pronounced Ka-nute) Johnson has arrived! Mom and baby are doing great," the rep said in a statement. "Jessica, Eric and Maxwell are thrilled to welcome the new addition their family."
In March during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, the singer revealed that her second pregnancy was a lot tougher than her first adding that she had been a vomiting a lot more before blurting out, "The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous!" Realizing that she had just revealed to the world that she was having a boy, Simpson laughed it off apologizing about how she broke the news.
This is the second child for Simpson, 32, and her fiancé Eric Johnson, 33 a former NFL player. Last year she gave birth to their daughter Maxwell. Just seven months after giving birth to her daughter the "Fashion Star" judge revealed that she was expecting another baby.
Simpson and Johnson have reportedly pushed wedding plans back twice already because of the surprise pregnancies. Back in April, a friend close to Simpson said that the singer was "telling friends she wanted to get married a few months after the baby is born." The two have been engaged since the fall of 2010.
The source also said that since Simpson wants to get married not long after giving birth to her son she was treating this pregnancy a lot different than her first. She reportedly hired a personal chef to cook for her to help her keep her weight down. Simpson reportedly gained about 70 pounds when she was pregnant with Maxwell.
"The chef is there all day," the source told US Weekly. "Jessica eats things like egg whites and sausage. It's healthier."
In a march interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Simpson said that with the first pregnancy she ate whatever she felt like but the second time around was paying more attention to what she ate.
"The first pregnancy, I like, let loose and I kind of ate everything that I wanted to eat and I just really enjoyed it," she told DeGeneres. "This time around I think I was doing Weight Watchers and I felt super healthy; I'm not really craving as much and I know how hard it is to get off, so I'm trying to make healthier, wiser decisions."
