No. 10 Notre Dame's five-game winning streak ended on Saturday in a 76-72 loss at Pittsburgh. The Fighting Irish had close wins against big schools like N.C. State and Duke last week, but after their loss to the Pittsburgh Panthers, they're looking to bounce back with a win Wednesday against the unranked Eagles.
"The way we've been winning, I'm thinking we may steal another one," said Notre Dame coach Mike Brey, via ESPN. "We've had two thefts this week already (against N.C. State and Duke). We're 2-1 in thefts. Our games have been very exhausting. ...
"In this league they just keep coming at you. This group, after a loss, has bounced back pretty good. But you know we've got Boston College (on Wednesday) night - I know their league record isn't good, (but) they've played everybody tough and it's going to be a dogfight."
Boston College is unranked with a 9-11 record and is looking to snap their two-game losing streak Wednesday. Overcoming Notre Dame at home will be hard, though, especially for a team that's lost four of their last five games. The Eagles' latest defeat came on Saturday in a 64-49 loss at Clemson.
To stand a chance against the Irish, Boston College will need a big game from junior guard Olivier Hanlan, who leads the team with 16.4 points and 4.8 assists per game.
