YouTube Testing New Video Feature that Allows Viewing from Different Angles

YouTube announced Wednesday that it is working on a new feature that will let you watch your favorite videos in ways you never could before.

With the new feature, viewers will be able to upload multiple camera angles for different videos, and they will be able to switch between angles at any time during the video, according to Mashable.

The only downside right now is that the feature will only be available to desktop users in the U.S.

The video-sharing service has so far tested the feature with a video of a live performance of indie artist Madilyn Bailey, the Hindustan Times reported.

The company said the goal for the new feature is to provide viewers a more interactive and immersive experience while watching videos, as well as give clips more repeat viewings.

YouTube spokesperson Matt LcLernon told Mashable that the company wants artists to have "as many ways to connect with their fans as possible, and this experimental feature brings fans even further into creating the experience they want."

The announcement follows one month after YouTube said viewers will be able to upload videos captured with the Kodak SP360 and other 360-degree cameras.
