'Persona 5': Atlus Unleashes Chic New Trailer That Leaves You Wanting More (WATCH IT)

The "Persona" series of role playing games is one that I myself just never got into; they always seemed just a bit too weird and dark for my (now) adult sensibilities. But, after seeing the super slick, anime-inspired trailer for "Persona 5" that developer Atlus dropped today, I think I may need to finally see what these games are all about.

The trailer, below, confirms that Katsura Hashino, whose first game in the "Persona" series was released in 2006, is onboard as director. The video showcases the game's unique look, achieved by mixing cel-shaded graphics with more traditional animations. It also has a playable black cat as one of its character classes and/or choices. So there's that.

Meanwhile, to mark the occasion, Sony Japan has announced a limited-edition "Persona"-themed PlayStation Vita.

"Persona 5" is expected to ship on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 at some point this year, according to Eurogamer.
