Jaimie Alexander will jump back to the Marvel small screen for her second appearance as Lady Sif on "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D."
Alexander will reprise her role as the Asgardian warrior from "Thor" in the March 10 episode, according to TVInsider. Unfortunately, a bumpy arrival on Earth will leave Lady Sif without her short term memory and cause communication problems between her and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team.
"Sif has no idea who Thor is or that she serves a king, and we're going to have fun with that," executive producer Jeffrey Bells told TVInsider. "It'll give us some much-needed humor in a season that's been full of betrayal and death."
Thor's female compatriot comes to Earth on an undercover mission, but she soon gets pulled into a "bodyslamming showdown" on the coast of Portugal with an enemy who matches her skills (Marvel would not reveal the name of the villain). Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team will see footage of the takedown all over social media and will immediately set off to investigate.
When they arrive, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team finds Lady Sif without her signature armor or any memory of who she came to stop on Earth from Asgard. She will retain her childhood memories and know that she's from Asgard, which may help the agents discover the whole story of her journey.
"We've been dealing a lot with space aliens and Inhumans in our last few episodes - things our Earth-bound heroes just don't know much about," Bell said. "They need help understanding what's really going on. Sif's memory - what's left of it - will come in very handy."
Alexander first appeared on "S.H.I.E.L.D." last year in the first season episode "Yes Men." She came to recapture escaped Asgardian prisoner Lorelei.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." returns on Tuesday, March 3 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
