Florida Couple Get Trapped Inside Garbage Truck After Spending Drunken Night At Hard Rock Casino (VIDEO)

An intoxicated Florida couple had to be rescued after the dumpster they were sleeping in was emptied into a garbage truck.

After a rowdy night at a nearby Seminole Hard Rock & Casino on Tuesday, two people fell asleep inside a dumpster outside a Wawa gas station near Tampa, authorities said. The boozy duo, who appeared "really intoxicated," was resting in the dumpster after hitting the slots, New York Daily News reported.

Early Wednesday morning, Donald Jordan, 37, and Lisa Spirella, 49, were tossed and emptied into the back of a garbage truck.

Around 5 a.m., a shocked driver heard yelling and banging from the back of his vehicle after emptying the dumpster into his garbage truck. Upon pulling over, he discovered that the pair had been trapped inside the back of his truck, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said.

However since the driver was unable to remove the couple from the back of the truck, he had to contact rescue crews, according to UK MailOnline.

Emergency responders eventually rescued them and rushed the couple to Tampa General Hospital, where they were treated for back pain, the sheriff's office said.

"It was originally believed that they were homeless, but it seems they were just really intoxicated after hanging out at the casino," said a HCSO spokesperson, adding that the garbage pickup was one of the driver's first stops, so there was little trash in the truck.
