If you think buying a new iPhone 6 out of contract costs a lot of money, be prepared to have your jaw drop.
London-based luxury company Goldgenie's newest Diamond Ecstasy Limited Edition gold iPhone 6 starts at $15,200, and a completely decked-out version costs upwards $3.5 million, according to CNET.
The phone is available in three different colors - 24K Gold, Platinum and Rose Gold - and is completely customizable from there. Stone finishing options include white, pink or black diamonds, as well as emeralds, rubies, sapphires and many others. Personal engraving on the back of the phone is also an option.
"We are inviting clients to participate in the creative process and customize their iPhone exactly to their preferences," Goldgenie founder Laban Roomes wrote in a blog post on the company's website on Tuesday. "This range and bespoke service is to cater to clients who have a taste for emeralds, rubies, and other precious and semi-precious stones, along with rare colored diamonds."
Roomes noted that he wants the phones to stand out and be flashy.
"This choice in gemstones, along with our laser engraving options will ensure that the phone is a statement piece that blurs the boundaries between fine jeweler and modern technology and will ensure that the phone is truly the client's own," he wrote.
Because of how specific buyers of the model can be, $3.5 million may not be the highest price tag of a Diamond Ectasy edition iPhone.
"We are providing clients with the option to customize their phones with their own choice of precious stones and larger diamonds, which could increase the price of the phone to anything up to £2.3 million ($3.5 million) and even beyond," a Goldgenie spokeperson said, according to CNET.
Goldgenie has already approved five orders for the "bottom of the line" $15,200 version of the phone. According to CNET, three of the orders placed were for the 24-karat-gold version and the other two were for the rose gold finish.
All of the Goldgenie models get shipped to buyers in a cherry oak finished box, complete with Apple EarPods and a 5W USB charger.
