NFL RUMORS: Seahawks, Colts & Saints Interested in Trading for Mike Wallace

It's all about the Benjamins, baby.

At least, that's the case for the Miami Dolphins and wide receiver Mike Wallace. Wallace is set to earn $9.9 million in 2015, including $3 million guaranteed next month. Considering that Wallace has failed to eclipse 73 catches or 930 yards -- and is known as a malcontent -- during his time in Miami, the Dolphins may bristle at the idea of paying him that much money. It's possible that Miami could look to ship the receiver during the offseason.

If so, here are three potential landing spots.

Seattle Seahawks

We mentioned this scenario recently, but it won't hurt to go over it again. Seattle is set on defense. The running game is good to go, assuming Marshawn Lynch returns. All that is really missing is a quality wide receiver. Sure, Paul Richardson showed some flashes before going down with an injury and Doug Baldwin is a nice player. But neither is a consistent threat.

Wallace, on the other hand, has elite speed even if Miami's offense doesn't showcase it very often. The Seahawks would love to add a downfield element to their play-action heavy offense and Russell Wilson already throws a nice deep ball.

Critics will point to the failed Percy Harvin trade as an argument not to make this move. They wouldn't be wrong; Seattle sacrificed valuable draft capital for what ultimately ended up being a bad fit. But Wallace's skillset differs from Harvin's and when you're a perennial Super Bowl contender, you go all in.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts keep making impressive incremental progress. This year, their third straight season making the playoffs, they advanced all the way to the AFC Championship Game. The team is close to Super Bowl caliber thanks to Andrew Luck.

While Indy could use some help along the offensive line, better production from the running back position and a few run stoppers, adding Wallace to the mix would be a big boost. We know that the Colts are willing to shake things up in a big way (think Vontae Davis and Trent Richardson trades). With Reggie Wayne 's future up in the air, Wallace could be a timely and helpful offensive addition.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints do not have a lot of salary cap room this offseason, so fitting in Wallace's big salary may not be feasible. But the speedy WR is a Louisiana native and would do serious damage in this high volume offense.

The team liked what it saw out of rookie Brandin Cooks before he went down with injury last season. Kenny Stills is still a nice deep threat. But neither has proven to be consistently reliable and Marques Colston will be 32 next season.

The Saints would have to consider adding another offensive weapon to help keep Drew Brees elite as he enters the last few seasons of his career.
