The Kitten Bowl was so successful with helping kittens from high-kill animal shelters get adopted that the Hallmark Channel is planning to premiere Kitten Summer Games on the network in summer 2016.
"With our phenomenal shelter partners, Crown Media Family Networks is having a positive impact on rescuing animals from high kill shelters and significantly increasing the numbers of shelter pet adoptions," Bill Abbott, President & CEO, Crown Media Family Networks, said in a statement.
Just like the Kitten Bowl is a kitten version of the Super Bowl, the Kitten Summer Games will be a version of the summer olympics - which pretty much guarantees an abundance of cuteness.
More than 20 shelters across the U.S. hosted Kitten Bowl parties that sparked a lot of adoptions. Officials expect the Kitten Summer Games to play out the same way, reported Perez Hilton.
The Kitten Bowl attracted more than 1.3 million viewers, reported A.V. Club, which could only mean there is a bright future for all of these adoptable cats!
And, of course, if you can't wait for more than a year to see an abundance of cute, adoptable kittens, your local animal shelter already is full of furry felines looking for a new home.
