Rapper Vanilla Ice Arrested in Home Burglary, Allegedly Stole Furniture from Florida Home

Vanilla Ice was arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 18 and charged with burglary and grand theft after he allegedly stole several items from a Florida home between December 2014 and February 2015.

The 47-year-old "Ice Ice Baby" rapper (real name Robert Matthew VanWinkle) was taken into custody by Lantana Police because he allegedly took furniture, bicycles and other items from a home he thought was vacant.

According to TMZ, around the time of the incident, Ice was filming his reality show, "The Vanilla Ice Project," and was renovating a home when he reportedly thought it would make for great TV if he took belongings from a nearby house. Sources told TMZ that the rapper believed the house had been abandoned and the items left behind.

"During the investigation, it was determined Robert Matthew VanWinkle played a role in the burglary and theft," police said in a statement. "Based on the evidence collected, witness statement and corroborating statements, VanWinkle was taken into custody and charged with Burglary Residence and Grand Theft."

Fox News reported that Ice voluntarily turned himself in and several of the items stolen were returned to the owner after police found the furniture and other objects at a residence under the rapper's control.
