The Miami Heat made a big splash on Thursday ahead of the NBA trade deadline. Reports indicate Miami acquired Goran Dragic from the Phoenix Suns and dealt a number of players, including Norris Cole and Danny Granger.
UPDATE: Miami released details of the trade on website Thursday:
"Miami HEAT President Pat Riley announced today that they have acquired brothers Goran Dragic and Zoran Dragic from the Phoenix Suns in part of a three-team trade involving the New Orleans Pelicans. Phoenix received Danny Granger and two future first round draft picks from Miami and John Salmons from New Orleans while the Pelicans received Norris Cole, Justin Hamilton and Shawne Williams from the HEAT."
Miami's biggest acquisition was Dragic. Multiple outlets, including ESPN and Yahoo Sports, confirmed the trade. It's unclear exactly what everything will look like once the dust settles, given the multiple teams involved in what looks like a huge but convoluted trade.
"Source: Miami sends Danny Granger, Norris Cole, Shawne Williams, Justin Hamilton and two first-round picks to the Suns for Dragic brothers (Goran and Zoran)," Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski tweeted Thursday.
Wojnarowski reported Miami sent Shawn Williams to New Orleans, who in turn sent John Salmons to Phoenix.
Possibly contrary to the aforementioned report, ESPN's Marc Stein reported Cole was sent to New Orleans for Salmons. It's unclear if that trade still included Williams to the Pelicans and Salmons to the Suns, as reported by Wojnarowski.
Stein and ESPN's Chris Broussard reported earlier in the day Miami would send two future first-round draft picks to Phoenix for Dragic.
