An American rock band's founding member is grabbing lots of attention for revealing that he has not only encountered aliens, but now might be in danger since the government has become aware of it.
Tom DeLonge, guitarist and vocalist of Blink-182, has claimed that he has had encounters with aliens and the government knows about it, Yahoo! News reported.
"You have to understand, I've been involved in this for a long time. I have sources from the government. I've had my phone tapped," the 39-year-old told Paper in a recent interview.
"I've done a lot of weird stuff in this industry - people wouldn't believe me if I told them," he continued. "But this is what happens when you start getting on email chains with hundreds of scientists from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and different universities around the country, and you start outing senior scientists from Lockheed Martin talking about the reality of this stuff, guys that hold 30 patents, guys that work underground out in the Nevada test sites in Area 51. It goes far beyond just saying, 'Hey, that little light in the sky, that's a little green man.' That doesn't lend the right gravity to the topic."
It has long been known that the pop-punk artist has been fascinated with extraterrestrial life, thanks to his website Strange Times, which features UFO and other less mainstream news. In 1999, he also wrote a song, titled "Aliens Exist," about the subject.
In the interview, DeLonge claimed that he had contributed 150 hours of top-secret testimony on a U.S. secret space program. He also confided that since one of his colleagues had been a victim of mind-control experiments, he has become concerned about his safety.
On Wednesday, the musician tweeted, "Just watched a video of NASA Administrator saying he believes there is life on Mars. I'm not totally crazy. Have some fun, look up."
However with his recent revelations, some fans are raising questions about the guitarist's mental stability.
