There's nothing like the presence of an animal to help with your well being.
A video recently surfaced of a boy with Williams syndrome - a genetic condition that can cause cardiovascular disease, developmental delays, and learning disabilities - being treated with equine therapy.
Equine therapy is a program where patients learn to take care of and bond with a horse. This program, led by a certified instructor, helps teach the patients skills such as confidence, self-efficacy, communication and boundaries, among other benefits.
The boy in the video is introduced to a horse, and while both appear to be a little hesitant in the presence of one another initially, the horse appears to realize early on that he should be gentle with the boy.
In only a few minutes the clip lets you watch the boy as he gains trust in the animal so much that he even gives him a hug and a kiss!
