A 19-year-old boy in Ghana may need to have his finger removed because of a ring that is stuck on it and eating away at his skin.
According to StarrFMOnline.com, the ring was found by Eric Buabeng in November 2014 on the side of a road between his home and the church he is a parishioner at. Soon thereafter he put the ring on his right index finger.
"I don't know the type of ring but it was like a golden ring and it was shining on my hand. When I picked it up, my hand was shaking and when I tried to throw it away, I could not because my hand was shaking and something forced me not to throw it away," Buabeng told StarrFMOnline.com.
Not long after wearing the piece of jewelry, he noticed the ring was tightening up and even altering his sleep cycle.
"When I took it home, I sat on my bed and put it on my hand but when I tried to remove it, I could not," Buabeng said. "Now I cannot sleep when I go to bed."
Visits to multiple hospital and churches have come up empty for Buabeng-- the ring is still stuck on his finger. The boy says he has started hearing voices in his head, too.
"Now I hear voices asking me to come out of my room at night," he said. "I have been hearing human voices in my ears but I cannot see them".
Buebeng went on to say that he regrets taking the ring from the side of the road.
His father is pleading for financial hope from people to help pay for the cost of a potential removal of the ring/finger.
