The man they call "Beast Mode" is reportedly ready to sign a new contract with the Seattle Seahawks and return for another NFL season.
Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, per a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports, has a new deal in place with the team he joined via trade in 2010.
"Marshawn Lynch has a new deal in place with the Seahawks according to league sources," La Canfora tweeted late Saturday.
"Would expect formalization of Lynch deal in coming days. Will include $12M in 1st year, $9M in 2nd year w/SEA aware he may retire after '15," he added shortly thereafter.
If the numbers are accurate, they match a report from Yahoo! Sports earlier in the day that stated the first year of any new deal for Lynch would be for somewhere between $11 and $12 million.
La Canfora then tweeted that, while a deal may not be finalized yet, he hears that "SEA has offer on table that will result in deal."
Seahawks head coach Peter Carroll spoke at the NFL scouting combine on Friday and said that he didn't truly believe Lynch would retire and admitted he was holding out hope Lynch would return for next season.
"We're always preparing for the future with him," Carroll told reporters, per ESPN. "We've never thought of the future without him. Hopefully, it will work out."
He also said that the team had made "big offers" to Lynch in the recent past in the hopes of luring the enigmatic ballcarrier back for another season.
Now, it seems that things may have worked out in Carroll and Seahawks fans' favor.
The soon-to-be 29-year-old Lynch was entering the final year of his current deal, which was set to pay him $7 million, and reportedly mulling retirement.
Over the past four seasons, Lynch has appeared in 63 regular season games, racking up 5,357 yards on 1,181 carries. He's also been the main back for the Seahawks in eight postseason games, including the past two Super Bowls, gaining 784 yards on 164 carries.
