PlayStation 4 Release Date Rumors: New Console May Be Set For November 26 Release Date As Well As A TV Service

This year's E3 gaming conference was perhaps the most exciting in a good long time. With Microsoft announcing its Xbox One and Sony announcing its PlayStation 4, the duel between the two gaming console giants has been making gamers hungry for more information as they make a choice between which of the two consoles they want to be the new focal point of their living room's entertainment center. Although PlayStation 4 won a huge public relations victory at the conference with their lack of game sharing restrictions and lower price tag of $399.

So far news about the PlayStation 4, since E3, has been virtually non-existent. Its price is confirmed but its release date is only slated for "later this year." Although the company has kept the console's release under wraps, that hasn't stopped the tech rumor mill from churning out a few theories. The latest comes from UberGizmo, it claims, according to a "well known video products supplier" that provides products to Amazon, Blockbuster and Newegg, has listed the PlayStation 4 release date to be November 26, 2013. The employee of the rumor leaked a photo of release date listing form within the company's system.

This is the first of a few rumors that state the PS4's release will be sometime in November. With its competitor, the Xbox One making its debut this November, PlayStation would almost be forced to release its product around the same time. Not to mention the company would be foolish not to capitalize on Black Friday and Christmas sales.

After all, it is clear that Sony cares about keeping up with the Xbox. An IGN reader has discovered an interesting new application on file in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, which hints that the PlayStation 4 might give users access to a TV service similar to that of Nintendo and Xbox. While none of these rumors have been at all confirmed by the company, that hasn't stopped PlayStation fans from getting excited about the prospects.
