Ian Somerhalder sure knows how to get the ladies excited. "The Vampire Diaries" star heated up Christian Grey buzz as he posed naked in several different shots for his friend and photographer Butch Hogan. In the tastefully shot pictures Somerhalder is seen wearing nothing but his birthday suit in a bathtub clutching a beer, lying on a bed and eating Chinese takeout. It's not clear what the pictures are for but "Fifty Shades" fans went nuts over the pictures. The only thing missing from the sultry photos was Anastasia Steele.
Somerhalder posted about the photo shoot on his Twitter page back in May but the pictures recently found their way to the Internet. This is not the first time the 34-year-old actor has posed semi-naked, exciting fans. Back in March, Somerhalder showed his philanthropic side while posing shirtless for Origin Magazine. He held a sign that read "Generation Extinction" and talked about what the young generation can do to help save the environment and our planet.
That could be why Somerhalder has been a top contender to play the sexy yet kinky billionaire in "Fifty Shades of Grey." Not only is he gorgeous and a great actor but he has no problem using his celebrity status to save the planet. Sound familiar? As Examiner points out Somerhalder lives his life similar to how Grey lives his in the book. Both are successful at a young age, both men want to save the planet and they tend to have a thing for brunettes.
"Christian Grey would definitely approve of the way Ian Somerhalder lives his life," the Examiner wrote. "He [Somerhalder] also commands attention from all those around him."
Could Somerhalder be a real life Grey (without the BDSM and dark past)? His fans certainly think so. The actor has also been extremely vocal about being cast in the movie telling Metro Online that he never gets tired of people asking him about playing Christian Grey.
"One can never get bored of people asking about a huge project," he said to the paper. "Everyone has to realize every guy in Hollywood is up for this role. It could be anyone - that's how it goes."
Many actresses have been rumored to play the leading lady of Anastasia Steele including Emilia Clarke, Lucy Hale, Felicity Jones and Alexis Bledel but Somerhalder told Metro that he has no idea who would could end up getting cast as the shy college student.
"There's so many incredible, young, talented women in Hollywood," he said. "They're going to find a really good one."
