NL All Star Final Vote Standings: Freeman Beating Puig; Braves and Blue Jays Join Forces

It is widely believed in the worlds of MLB analysts and sports talk radio hosts that young Los Angeles Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig will win the final NL All-Star team spot in a landslide. Currently, he isn’t winning it at all, according to MLB.com.

Here are the standings so far for the final roster spot in the National League and American League:

AL:

Relief pitcher Steve Delabar of the Toronto Blue Jays

Relief pitcher Koji Uehara of the Boston Red Sox

Relief pitcher David Robertson of the New York Yankees

Relief pitcher Joaquin Benoit of the Detroit Tigers

Relief pitcher Tanner Schepper of the Texas Rangers

NL:

First baseman Freddie Freeman of the Atlanta Braves

Right fielder Yasiel Puig of the Los Angeles Dodgers

Right fielder Hunter Pence of the San Francisco Giants

Shortstop Ian Desmond of the Washington Nationals

First baseman Adrian Gonzalez of the Los Angeles Dodgers

It seems the Blue Jays and the Braves have come up with an uncommon way to generate votes and make sure their guys get in—join forces.

The Braves are asking their fans to support their first baseman with a picture of Freeman and the hashtag #votefreddie. However, as you can see below, right next to the pitcher of Freeman is a photo of Delabar with the Blue Jay’s hastag for their pitcher #RaiseTheBar. The plan, so far, seems to be working.

Some other hastags:

Puig—#VotePuig

Uehara—#HighFiveCiti

Schepper—#VoteTanner

Desmond—#Desiln13

Pence—#VotePence

The Dodgers might have had a bit of a rivalry within their organization, however both Gonzalez said he is going to vote for Puig and has asked fans to do the same.
